From a sale barn in Michigan to Facebook Live coast to coast — the Casey family has been doing this since 1957.
Where it started
Calvin "Tink" Brown. April 20th, 1957.
Cal's grandfather graduated from the Reppert School of Auctioneering in December 1956 and held his first auction four months later. He built something that outlasted him — a family business rooted in honest dealing, handshake relationships, and a genuine love for the livestock and western world.
His son-in-law Leon carried it on. Calling auctions across Michigan since 1970, Leon kept the Casey name synonymous with integrity at the stockyards. Cal grew up watching it, then stepped into it himself — graduating from Reppert with honors and becoming a third-generation auctioneer, champion team roper, and the man behind Tri-Pine Tack.
When COVID hit and the sale barns went quiet, Cal and Brandy didn't stop. They moved the operation to Facebook Live and their customers followed. Today, they still host an in-person auction the 2nd Saturday of each month at Northern Michigan Livestock in Gaylord, Michigan. That loyalty didn't happen by accident — it's built on nearly 70 years of the Casey family showing up and doing right by people.

1956Calvin "Tink" Brown graduates from the Reppert School of Auctioneering in Auburn, Indiana.
April 20, 1957Tink holds his first auction. A family legacy begins in Michigan.
1970sLeon Casey — Cal's father and Tink's son-in-law — steps in as the second generation, calling auctions across the state.
2000sCal Casey graduates from Reppert with honors. Third generation. Tri-Pine Tack is born. Cal competes in team roping, calf roping, steer wrestling, and bull riding — earning multiple All Around Champion titles.
2021COVID closes the main sale barn. Cal and Brandy take the operation live on Facebook. Their customers follow them there.
Today7,000+ Facebook followers. Coast-to-coast shipping. An in-person auction the 2nd Saturday of each month at Northern Michigan Livestock in Gaylord, MI. Trey carrying the torch as the 4th generation — traveling rodeo clown, auctioneer, "The Kid in the Can." Kyanne competing in rodeo and making her own jewelry. Cal's grandfather. Started it all on April 20th, 1957. Graduated Reppert School of Auctioneering December 1956. Built the foundation every generation since has stood on.
Leon Casey
2nd generation · Calling since 1970
Cal's father and Tink's son-in-law. Kept the family name at the stockyards for decades. A Michigan auctioneer who understood that relationships matter more than transactions.
